About Me
I am a senior system administrator and part time college instructor. I have my B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology and My M.S in Information Technology Security. I still enjoy both fields but my career is focused more on the IT side of things. Ultimately I like dabbling with everything from microcontroller architecture and assembly language all the way up the stack to high level scripting languages such as python and large scale system administration tasks.
Interests
My IT interests tend to be on large scale enterprise problems such as configuration management and server monitoring issues while my electronics interests tend to be more small scale in nature. For example I interested in audiophile equipment, amateur radio, and “evil mad scientist” type experiments such as Tesla coils or high power lasers more so than industrial or commercial stuff.
I never was much of a mechanical guy when it comes to fixing my car or motorcycle but I am trying to change that and starting to find some interests in common with my non-geek guy friends.
Goals
I would like to start a electronics kit business aimed at the Maker / Instructables DIY crowd. In addition I would not mind authoring some books on Linux or hobby level electronics.
